Interestingly, there was no Redmi 14 4G released last year, making this new model a direct leap forward. The Redmi 15 4G is packed with impressive features on paper, including a massive 6.9-inch display, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 685 processor, and a huge 7,000mAh battery.

In the Box

Xiaomi provides a complete unboxing experience with the Redmi 15 4G. Inside the box, users get:

  • A protective case

  • 33W fast charging adapter

  • USB-C cable

  • SIM ejector tool

There's no need to spend extra on accessories immediately after purchase.

Design & Build

The Redmi 15 4G debuts a new design language for the Redmi series. The rear camera layout is clean, and the phone sits flat on surfaces without wobbling. It has a plastic back and frame, but the build feels solid.

Available in multiple colors, the purple variant stands out for its premium look. The curved edges aid grip, though the phone’s large size may be uncomfortable for users with smaller hands.

Display

A standout feature is the 6.9-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. Although the display doesn’t consistently run at 144Hz across all apps, it delivers a fluid experience in many scenarios.

With a peak brightness of 850 nits, the screen remains visible under direct sunlight. Colors appear vibrant, making it ideal for content consumption. However, competitors like the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G offer AMOLED displays in a similar category.

Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 685 and paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, performance is solid for daily tasks like browsing, texting, and social media.

While suitable for casual gaming, the phone struggles with intensive games at high settings and may exhibit performance drops during extended sessions. Still, thermal management is commendable with minimal overheating.

Software

The Redmi 15 4G runs Android 15 out of the box with Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 2. The interface comes with numerous pre-installed apps and prompts for more installations, which may frustrate some users. Thankfully, many of these can be removed.

There are rumors the device will receive up to 2–3 years of software updates, though this isn’t confirmed. Compared to Samsung’s 6-year software support on some budget devices, this is a weaker offering.

Notably, the device lacks split-screen multitasking and has limited support for simultaneous app usage, a feature once common in Redmi’s budget phones.

Camera

The phone features a 50MP main camera and an auxiliary sensor. While a downgrade from the 108MP camera seen on the Redmi 13 4G, the main lens still captures decent daylight photos.

HDR performance and portrait mode are impressive, with good edge detection and accurate skin tones. The 8MP front camera is passable, producing acceptable selfies in good lighting. However, low-light performance is poor, and video capabilities are limited to 1080p with no stabilization.

Battery Life

Battery life is where the Redmi 15 4G truly shines. The massive 7,000mAh battery delivers up to two days of use on a single charge. The device supports 33W fast charging, taking about 85 minutes for a full charge. It also offers 18W reverse charging to power other devices—a rare feature in this segment.

Extras

  • Side-mounted fingerprint scanner: Fast and reliable

  • IR blaster: Still present, useful for controlling appliances

  • Dual SIM or SIM + microSD support

  • IP64 water and dust resistance

Final Verdict

The Redmi 15 4G offers:

  • Pros: Long-lasting battery, large high-refresh-rate display, fresh design, and reliable performance for everyday use.

  • Cons: Lack of AMOLED display, limited software support, no video stabilization, and missing multitasking features.
